Discussion on global trade policies with a special emphasis on barriers, sanctions and impediments to trade developments
A decade of MUNs, global accolades, and a love for debate — say hello to Kathiyayini! Bold, intimidating, yet absolutely wholesome — these are the words you'd associate with Kathiyayini Sivakumar, our Chair of ECOSOC. She has been MUNing since 2014, with close to 50 conferences under her belt, including the prestigious Harvard MUN China and Yale MUN Korea in 2017. She's an enthusiastic participant in the Indian MUNing circuit. Kathiyayini is a CSE graduate from SSN College of Engineering, and after 9 SSN MUNs — 4 of them in an organisational capacity — she is super excited to return for the 12th edition of her favourite conference. Apart from debate and Model UN, her interests lie in art, books, and running.
Karthik V., a law graduate from VIT Chennai, has shown a strong passion for cultural activities and MUNs since his school days. With 9 years in the MUN circuit, he served as the Secretary-General of VITCMUN 2024. He has primarily participated in and chaired economic committees, honing his interest in global economic affairs. Beyond this, he’s an avid football fan and a die-hard Real Madrid supporter. He is currently practising law in Chennai, focusing on corporate and commercial matters, while continuing to stay engaged with global issues.
Mahasvan Mohan is in his final year studying AI and has been participating in MUNs since college, having delegated in fifteen conferences and chaired two. He has thoroughly enjoyed the experience so far and has absorbed everything he could along the way. According to Abyaz, he is known for his amazing sarcasm, flair for tech, and complete lack of awareness of food spots in his area. In other news, he also leads @snuc_munsoc and serves as the SDE Lead of SNU’s coding club. He is very excited to bear the role of Director in this amazing committee!
